NearPaw FAQ
The hard parts of urgent pet care are operational. These answers do not pretend otherwise.
Does Care Now guarantee someone will arrive in 60 minutes?
Not automatically. Sixty minutes is the initial configurable target for active pilot zones. A guarantee exists only when the checkout screen expressly states it and explains the remedy if NearPaw fails.
Does “background checked” mean completely safe?
No. Screening is one risk control and may have limits. Identity, relevant records, skills, behaviour, platform history, and live execution are handled separately.
Can I track my dog rather than only the caregiver's phone?
Yes, when a compatible GPS/LTE tracker is connected. The platform also supports a QR/NFC tag link for finder scans. A QR tag is not live GPS.
Are calls recorded?
No by default. The masked-calling integration is designed to connect the parties without exposing personal phone numbers and without recording. Any future recording feature would require a clear purpose, notice, appropriate consent, retention rules, and privacy review.
What happens if the caregiver cancels?
An unstarted booking can be returned to dispatch. Operations can notify other qualified caregivers and document the reassignment. Successful replacement still depends on local supply.
Can a caregiver refuse my pet?
Yes. Nobody should be pressured to accept an animal outside their approved skills or comfort. Owners must disclose material behaviour and medical information.
Is NearPaw a veterinary service?
No. NearPaw coordinates non-medical pet care. Serious illness, injury, poisoning, breathing difficulty, or other medical danger requires veterinary direction.
Is the platform ready for public launch immediately after upload?
No. The software can be deployed and tested, but payment, communications, screening, tracker contracts, insurance, privacy, terms, incident staffing, and caregiver supply must be completed before a public operational launch.
